Graphics and Artwork

Our graphic artists can take your ideas, simple sketches, or complex graphic files and carefully expand them, develop them, and carry them through our production processes to deliver only the highest quality labels possible.

ARTWORK SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

For Best Results, Meet These Minimum Standards:

  • LINES: 0.5pt  (0.007 INCHES)

  • TYPE: POSITIVE: 2 PT. SAN SERIF, 3 PT. SERIF

  • TYPE: KNOCKED OUT: 5 PT SANS SERIF, 8 PT SERIF

  • PRINT TO DIE POSITION: 0.0625” INCHES AWAY FROM THE EDGE OF THE DIE.

  • COLOR TRAP: 1PT. (0.5PT INSIDE / 0.5 PT. OUTSIDE)

  • SCANNED IMAGES MUST BE AT A RESOLUTION OF 300 DPI.

  • WE CAN PRODUCE DOTS DOWN TO 0.3% PERCENT.

  • BLEEDS SHOULD BE 0.125” INCHES OFF THE DIE LINE.

SOFTWARE

If your software is not listed, please call before submitting your artwork.

Adobe Illustrator (Preferred Program)

  • Please do not embed placed images, and please include fonts.
  • Please save as Illustrator file (.ai), or high resolution PDF.

Adobe Photoshop

  • Do not typeset in Photoshop.
  • Please save as CMYK at 300 DPI, .EPS or .TIF

Quark Express

  • Conversion required to aid in flex printing.

Aldus Freehand

  • Converts to Illustrator easily.
  • Please save as Freehand file or .EPS.

Coreldraw

  • Please save as Illustrator file.
  • Please send original Coreldraw file and converted Illustrator file.
  • Please include all necessary files: (fonts, eps, tiff).

FONTS AND GRAPHICS

  •  Please include all screens and printer fonts (suitcase and postscript fonts), or convert type to outlines.
  •  Please include all linked files. As examples: EPS files and their originals, TIFFS, picture files, and/or any Photoshop layered documents.
  •  Scanned images must be a minimum of 300 DPI resolution.
  •  Please always save .EPS files using binary encoding. Never use jpeg encoding.
  •  Please save your images as CMYK, duotone or gray scale, and always 100% in size. 

COLORS

Working with Colors:

  • Properly define colors as process (CMYK), or spot (PMS).
  • Please pay attention to whether colors are set to knockout or overprint.
  • Please delete unused colors.

PROCESS PRINTING AND COLOR MATCH ISSUES

We print labels using four color process (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black), and/or Spot Pantone colors.
